Oh boy, I remember THAT line! I didn't think that Rocket Rods was a terrible ride, just not worth the enormous queue. It broke down twice while we were in line, and we didn't know if we should leave or take our chances. We decided to stay, and I'll bet it took us at least 2 hours to get on!
Man as much as I verbally bashed Rocket Rods, we rode it every time we visited. The Major is right, it wasn't bad on it's own, just in comparison to what had been, or could have been. Ok, I guess that's still bad, but it was enjoyable in it's own way.
I went on the Rocket Rods probably a dozen times, but I don't think I ever waited in line. Most of those were on the media day (May 21, 1998) when there just was no line. I recall using a backdoor pass (acquired when a member of my party complained about delayed attraction openings) once. And there may have been a few times when it was operational and there was just no line. I would have liked to have spent more time in the queue with all the old Tomorrowland stuff!

105 minutes of pure bliss for 3 minutes of boring....
